There are people all over the world who do not know that God loves them. The invitation to join Jesus’ family has not yet reached them. Some unreached peoples are far away from where your family lives, but some are very close by. The first step to reaching them is to build a connection. They might have different beliefs, languages, and cultures, but there are three powerful ways your family can bridge these gaps to make Jesus known.
Family Activity
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Activity Time: 10 minutes
Materials: building bricks, 2 stuffed animals or toy people, 3 paper plates, 1 marker
- Use the marker to label each paper plate: “Learning About,” “Praying For,” and “Spending Time With.”
- Divide the building bricks evenly between the three plates.
- Place one toy on one side of the table and the other toy on the opposite side.
- Explain that one toy knows the good news about Jesus, and the other does not.
- Invite your children to build a bridge using the bricks to connect the two toys, so the good news of Jesus can be shared.
- As they build, point out the labels on the plates and say:
“We can build connections with people so we can share about Jesus by learning about them, spending time with them, and praying for them.”
- When the bridge is finished, celebrate together.
Bible:
Read Mark 16:15 and Romans 10:14-15 together with your family.
Discuss:
- What are some ways we can learn about unreached peoples?
- What would it look like for our family to spend time with people who do not know Jesus?
Pray:
Ask Jesus to help you connect with people who do not know him so that your family can share the good news.
