In many parts of the world, St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17. This holiday is traditionally celebrated with leprechauns, shamrocks, and pinching those who don’t wear green. But did you know that the real St. Patrick played a big role in God’s global story?

Suggested books: The Story of Saint Patrick by James A. Janda, Patrick: Patron Saint of Ireland by Tomie dePaola, Patrick: Saint of Ireland by Diana Mayo and Joyce Denham, The Story of St. Patrick: More than Shamrocks and Leprechauns by Voice of the Martyrs
Bible:
Read Romans 10:13-15 and Genesis 50:20 as a family.
Discuss:
1. St. Patrick was a “goer,” someone who is trying to reach people of a different culture with the truth of Jesus. Why is it essential for God’s people to go?
2. St. Patrick and Joseph had similar stories of God using something bad for his good. How does this change your understanding of hardships and God’s global work?
Pray:
Pray that God would show your family ways that you can participate in his story.
