Running to the store for groceries, school supplies, clothing, or maybe picking out a new toy is a commonality in most families. Many of the products we buy are made all over the world.
Family Activity:
As you pick up items at the store, have your child look at the package or tag to see where it was made. Say a quick prayer that people in that country would know and follow Jesus. When you get home, locate some of these places on a world map. Which country is closest to yours? Which is furthest away? Do people there follow Jesus? Pick one country to continue praying for throughout the month.
Option: If your children do not go to the store with you, do this activity once you are home from the store and are putting the items away.
Discuss:
- Imagine the person who grew or made your product. Why do they live where they do and you live where you do? Read Acts 17:26.
- What’s the purpose of our family living in a place where we know the true God?
Pray:
Pray that the people who live in the countries where your items were made would come to know and follow Jesus.
